Juliana Buzzone, B.Sc., RP (Qualifying)

What makes me very passionate about working as a psychotherapist is the opportunity to hear someone’s life story and support them during this healing process. I know how vulnerable it could be to tell someone of the difficulties you are facing. But having gone through therapy myself, I can affirm that this is a life-changing experience.

My work emphasizes getting in touch with unconscious thoughts and emotions that could be running our lives and provoking situations that cause suffering. I believe that our early life experiences become a template for our personalities and relationships. Investigating our origins could lead us not only to healing but also to a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Originally from Brazil and fluent in both Portuguese and English, I worked as a clinical psychologist for two years before moving to Canada, where I completed the BREM (Bridge to Registration and Employment in Mental Health) course. This allowed me to become Registered as a Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I believe that moving to a new country has given me the unique ability to connect with clients and people from all walks of life, and I welcome people of all backgrounds to work with me.

I am trained in various approaches like Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and also work within a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory framework, using a largely attachment-based lens.  In my view, however, every individual requires a treatment plan that fits their unique needs and expectations.

My areas of specialization include identity and relationship issues, forms of addiction and self-harm, impulse control and emotional regulation, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

I offer all new clients a 15-minute initial phone consultation for free, and I look forward to being a part of your growth.
