Cathy Dubrofsky | Therapist | Beaches Therapy Group

Cathy Dubrofsky, MA, RP

There are many reasons why people seek therapy, and there is no right or wrong time to reach out for support. Whether your concerns are long-standing or have come up more recently, you have come to the right place.  I am a patient, energetic and compassionate therapist with extensive experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and it can be hard to talk about personal and family struggles. With this in mind, I strive to create a very warm, inviting and judgment-free environment where people of diverse backgrounds and identities feel supported.  Every person/family is different and I believe it is important to spend time getting a ‘full picture’ of your specific concerns and working together to make a plan that you are comfortable with.

I have a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University and am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have worked in mental health for over 10 years in community-based and private practice settings. I draw from many different therapeutic approaches in my work including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I have experience supporting people with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotion regulation difficulties and interpersonal/social difficulties. I provide parent coaching and support in addressing behavioural challenges in home and school environments, learning and attention difficulties, social challenges and family conflict.

I offer a free initial consultation call to new clients where you can learn more about my approach and tell me about your goals for therapy. I look forward to speaking with you!
