In-Person and Online Therapy in Burlington, Ontario
You carry a lot. This hour doesn’t have to be for anyone else.
Maybe you’re the person everyone comes to. The one who remembers, organizes, checks in, figures it out. Maybe you’re doing fine on paper and feeling very different in real life.
Our Burlington team offers thoughtful, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, and families, in person on Harvester Road and online across Ontario.
Why Beaches?
The support you need, without having to figure out the whole system first.
Looking for therapy can quickly turn into researching credentials, comparing approaches, checking insurance, opening fourteen browser tabs, and wondering whether you’re choosing correctly.
You don’t need another project.
Our Care Team helps make the path clearer from the beginning.
Care Closer to Home
See your therapist at our Burlington clinic or online, depending on what works for your life that week.
Matching With an Actual Human in Mind
We consider what you’re coming in for, but we don’t stop there. Your goals, preferences, personality, and what helps you feel comfortable all matter when we recommend a therapist.
Evidence-Based. Still Personal
Our clinicians draw from approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and more. Those approaches guide the work without reducing you to a protocol.
We’ll Help With the Logistics, Too
Where your insurance provider allows it, we offer direct billing. Our Care Team can help you navigate coverage and the practical questions that tend to come with starting therapy.
How Can We Help?
There’s more than one reason to come to therapy.
Sometimes something has happened. Sometimes something has been building for years. Sometimes you’re not in crisis at all—you just know the way you’re living, relating, or feeling could be better.
Our Burlington clinicians support individuals, couples, children, teens, and families across a range of concerns, in person and online.
Anxiety Therapy
When your mind has already rehearsed tomorrow’s conversation six times and somehow moved on to worrying about next Thursday. Therapy can help you understand what’s driving the anxiety and find different ways to work with it.
Depression Support
Maybe everything feels heavier. Maybe the things you usually care about barely register. Or you’re getting through the day, but it feels like that’s all you’re doing. Therapy gives you somewhere to begin making sense of it.
Couples & Relationship Therapy
When every conversation somehow becomes the same conversation. When you’re great at managing the calendar but not so great at finding each other in the middle of it. Couples therapy creates space to understand what’s happening between you and find a different way forward together.
Trauma & PTSD (EMDR)
Some experiences don’t stay neatly in the past. Our trauma-focused care, including EMDR with trained therapists, gives you space to process what happened at a pace that works for you.
Grief & Loss
There’s no tidy timeline for missing someone or adjusting to a life that looks different from the one you expected. You don’t need to make your grief more understandable before bringing it here.
Self-Esteem & Identity
For the voice that always has one more criticism. The version of yourself you think you’re supposed to be. Or the quiet question of who you are now that something in your life has changed.
ADHD & Neurodivergent Support
Support built around understanding how your brain works, rather than trying to force it into someone else’s operating manual. We offer ADHD and neurodivergent support for kids and adults.
Child & Teen Therapy
School pressure. Friendships. Family. Identity. Big feelings at deeply inconvenient times. Our therapists give children and teens a space to talk about the hard parts of growing up.
Family Therapy
Sometimes what one person is going through changes the rhythm of the whole family. Family therapy creates room to understand what’s happening together and find healthier ways of relating.
Anger Management
For the moments when the reaction happens before you’ve had time to decide how you actually want to respond. Therapy can help you understand your anger and build other ways of handling what sits underneath it.
Separation & Divorce
There are the logistics of separation. And then there’s everything that doesn’t fit neatly into a spreadsheet: grief, anger, parenting, identity, uncertainty, relief, guilt, and figuring out what life looks like from here.
Not Sure Where to Start?
I know I need something. I’m just not sure what.
That’s enough to start with.
Tell our Care Team what’s been going on. We’ll help you understand your options and recommend a therapist based on what you need and what matters to you.

Getting Started
Starting therapy, made a little less complicated.
1
Tell Us What’s Going On
Book a free Care Consultation and talk with a real person. You can tell us what’s been happening, who you’re looking for support for, and what you hope might be different.
2
We Help You Find Your Therapist
Our Care Team recommends a therapist based on your goals, needs, preferences, and personality. If you meet and the fit isn’t there, we’ll help you rematch.
3
Start Where You Are
You and your therapist will get clear on what you want to work on and how you might approach it together. You don’t need to have everything figured out before therapy can be useful. That would rather defeat the purpose.
What You Can Expect
Care you can feel good about choosing
Our team includes Registered Psychotherapists, Registered Social Workers, and Psychologists, registered with their respective Ontario regulatory colleges.
Your Story Is Yours
What you share in therapy is confidential and handled in accordance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act.
More Ways to Make Therapy Work
Daytime, evening, weekend, and virtual appointments are available because work, kids, commutes, and life generally refuse to organize themselves around therapy.
Help Understanding Your Coverage
Many extended health plans cover psychotherapy. Where your provider allows it, we offer direct billing, and our Care Team can help you understand your options.
FAQs
Questions About Therapy In Burlington
How do I find a therapist who’s right for me
Start by telling us about you, rather than trying to choose from profiles alone.
During your free Care Consultation, we’ll ask what’s going on, what you want support with, and what you’re looking for in a therapist. Our Care Team will use that information to recommend a match.
If the relationship doesn’t feel right after you meet, we’ll help you rematch.
Do you take insurance? Are you covered by OHIP?
Many extended health plans cover psychotherapy, depending on your plan and the professional designation it covers. Where your insurance provider permits it, we offer direct billing.
Beaches Therapy Group is a private practice and our services are not covered by OHIP. We also offer a reduced-rate intern therapy program.
See our Rates and Insurance page for more information, or ask our Care Team about your options.
What’s the difference between an RP, RSW, and Psychologist?
Registered Psychotherapists, Registered Social Workers, and Psychologists follow different training pathways and are regulated by their respective Ontario colleges.
You don’t need to memorize what every designation means before getting help. If credentials matter for your needs or your insurance coverage, our Care Team can help you choose appropriately.
How long is a therapy session?
Most individual sessions are about 50 minutes, with couples and family appointments sometimes running longer.
Your first appointment gives your therapist a chance to understand what’s bringing you in and what you want from therapy. You can ask questions, too. This is a relationship you’re building together.
Is virtual therapy or in-person therapy better?
The useful question is usually: which one works better for you?
Some people like leaving home and having a dedicated physical space for therapy. Others prefer being able to close the laptop and immediately put the kettle on.
You can access in-person therapy at our Burlington clinic and virtual therapy across Ontario.
How do I book an appointment?
Book a free Care Consultation online, call (647) 484-8622, or email [email protected].
We’ll start by understanding what you’re looking for and help you figure out what comes next.
What happens during my first appointment?
You’ll talk about what brought you in, what’s been happening in your life, and what you’d like help with.
You don’t have to begin at the beginning. You don’t have to tell everything at once. And you definitely don’t need an impressive answer prepared.
