Hello! I’m Karen
I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change…I am changing the things I cannot accept

Life is a journey that entails ups and downs and uncertainties. At the moment when challenges are present, emotions can be overwhelming and leave one in an unexplained ‘stuckness’. Finding autonomy to explore and engage in therapy can be the path that consists of bridging feelings of hopelessness to inspiring hopefulness. It is with a glimmer of hope that one can feel empowered and regulated to ride through the waves of life changes and challenges.
Allow me to introduce myself to see if a therapeutic alliance can enhance your vast life challenges. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with an earned Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My undergrad was obtained at York University in the areas of Psychology and Gender and Women’s Studies. Over the past years, I have worked immensely in community settings assisting individuals within the shelter system and also with children of incarcerated parents, assisting parents with literacy enhancement skills for their young ones, and actively providing assistance within the educational system as a volunteer.
The therapeutic approach works with both the client and the therapist in unison, however, I am extremely mindful that this is your story to tell and I am walking beside you to ensure your steps through your story are supported without judgment. Each individual’s story is unique and deserves to be heard through an unbiased lens and active listening. My clinical path entails an intersectional approach that incorporates elements of Child and Play Therapy, CBT – (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, SFT – Solution-focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, EFT -(Emotion-Focused Therapy), and Positive Psychology. Of course, this may sound like a wide range of modalities but the journey will provide what best suits you the client.
I am happy to provide a free 15-minute consultation that will allow an opportunity for us to connect. During this consultation, I am eager to know how best I can help you explore your desired goals for therapy and outline the process you are about to embark upon. I leave you with the words of an acclaimed feminist whom I genuinely admire.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
