Hi! I’m Mandy.
When I’m not outside adventuring with my family, I’m snuggling with our big pup and fluffy cats, drinking tea, reading and knitting.
The world is a beautiful place. Yet sometimes it can feel really dark. When we are brave enough to explore the darkness we will discover the infinite power of our light.
— Brene Brown
We face challenges and sometimes lose our way – it’s a natural part of being human. The magic lies in how we get back on our path. I am committed to identifying the factors that keep us stuck in disruptive patterns, negative thoughts, and traumatic experiences. These issues can hold us back and limit our ability to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. In a world that can sometimes feel fast, insensitive and harsh, I invite you to join me in a calm, safe space where you feel supported, validated and heard as we work towards greater understanding and compassion.
I have a Master’s in Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality from Saint Paul University and I’m a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have certification levels 1 and 2 in Emotionally Focused Individualized Therapy (EFIT) and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher and Reiki Master.
Having struggled with anxiety and an autoimmune condition, I have experienced the benefits of this work in my own life. I am a mom of two uniquely spirited children, and I’ve learned how to regulate my nervous system to feel more balanced. For over 21 years, I have worked with youth and adults in hospital and community settings. I specialize in trauma recovery and taking a mind-body approach to therapy. Together, we address and resolve the root causes of your emotional pain, its impact on your body, and its connection to your thoughts and behaviours.
I offer new clients a free consultation to help move forward on your healing journey. This is an opportunity for us to address any questions, discuss your therapy goals and explore how I can assist you in reaching them.
