Hey everyone, my name is Kausalya Vimal, and I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from York University and a Masters of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson). I am proud to speak both English and Tamil.

I believe that therapy is a place for you to be your authentic self. Free from judgment, shame, guilt, and negativity. As your therapist, I want to cultivate a safe space where you feel welcomed, seen, and heard. Therapy isn’t all smiles, as we will definitely unpack heavy emotions and experiences. However, know that you will be doing it with support and guidance.

My experience includes working with individuals (children, adolescents, adults) experiencing anxiety, depression, family and relationship challenges, low self-esteem, stress, and trauma-driven challenges. I work with a holistic approach, from an anti-oppressive, strength-based lens. I also implement evidence-based modalities into my practice such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Dance and Movement Therapy.

I believe that every single person can learn to heal from their traumas and challenges, as long as we commit and take it one day at a time. I look forward to working with you and helping you embrace more of who you are.
