I love spending time with family up north and friends, paddle boarding, paint by numbers, going for hikes qnd witnessing nature, listening to music, checking out restaurants, being cozy and watching movies/tv shows that get me in my feels, and going to hockey games
The only thing worse than feeling a painful feeling is not feeling it at all. Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. — Dumbledore
We are presented with many challenges in life and oftentimes, we are uncertain how to navigate them. Therapy is not only a place to explore and manage the obstacles we face, it is a space for self-exploration, discovering strengths, and creating the life desired to live. Seeking therapy is one of the most challenging steps to make and an accomplishment in itself.
I aspire to create a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental, and collaborative therapeutic space where my clients are able to feel open, honest, and comfortable to strive to be their authentic selves.
Since I was little, I have always been an observer within all of my interpersonal relationships. My curiosity and desire to understand human behaviour from age 5 within others and myself has led me on my path toward psychology. Following my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, I have completed my Masters of Psychology at Adler Graduate Professional School and am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. During my masters, I completed my thesis on Couples and Successful Conflict Resolution Strategies as I became incredibly interested in understanding and exploring healthy conflict resolution within couples. I have received certificates in emotion-focused family therapy, trauma-informed therapies, and currently continuing my training within Adlerian Psychotherapy. I have training in many modalities such as: cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, exposure and response prevention, internal family systems, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and Gottman’s Couples method.
I have gained experience supporting adults, couples, parents, and teens at Beaches Therapy Group. As an Adlerian-driven therapist, I believe in addressing current presenting concerns, along with exploring the underlying deeper cause and understanding why they are present; through family dynamics, interpersonal relationships, and early childhood narratives. Once we gain understanding, then we can move toward change. I utilize a holistic approach, drawing upon modalities that fit each client best, as everyone is different. I have been providing treatment services for clinical concerns that include parenting challenges, attention, time management, motivation, life transitions, ambivalence, burnout, past or current trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety and panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship challenges, communication difficulties, as well as loss of identity.
I offer free 15-minute consultations to all new clients to get to know me, my approach, your goals, and if I may be the right fit. Therapy is a journey, and I hope to be a part of yours!
