Life is a balancing act that everyone struggles to manage at times. Between work and personal life, fitting into self-care tends to be the last thing we prioritize. To me, therapy is a space where you can put yourself first. Where you can be unapologetically you, without the fear of being judged. As such, my therapeutic process takes a non-judgmental approach, guided by the principles of person-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based perspectives. Through a collaborative effort, I hope to foster an environment that creates a sense of comfort and security, where you leave feeling heard, supported, and empowered. Together, you and I will work to understand what your goals are as well as the most effective strategies to achieve them.
I am currently completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto with a focus on Mental Health and Health, in addition to being a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. My work experience ranges from hospital environments and community mental health services supporting folks of all ages and walks of life. In addition to my career as a social worker, I have a decade of experience as a Registered Massage Therapist. Through my work as an RMT, I witnessed firsthand how the body stores our emotional and mental stress experiences, contributing to our overall health and well-being. This work taught me that our health extends far beyond our physical state and that I feel it’s important to take a holistic approach to healing. I believe this is also true for therapy. My therapeutic process aims to build mind-body awareness by integrating techniques from mindfulness-based practices, cognitive behavior therapy, emotional-focused therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. With both personal and professional experiences informing my practice, I am passionate about supporting people through interpersonal issues, challenging family dynamics, trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief.
With the mentorship and guidance of an experienced senior MSW therapist during my internship, I am excited for the opportunity to learn and grow during my time with The Beaches Therapy Group. As such, I wholeheartedly welcome and value your feedback to ensure the therapeutic process honors and respects your safety and growth toward your goals. I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation, which will allow us a chance to get to know one another better, discuss your therapeutic goals, and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions you might have. I appreciate what it may have taken for you to take this step, and I look forward to having the privilege of getting to know you through this journey.
