Hi! I’m Nidhi

I enjoy travelling, yoga, hiking, calligraphy, biking, walking, learning new languages & cooking.

He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.

— Friedrich Nietzsche

I strongly believe that seeking help and support through therapy is a beautiful way to practice self-love; when you truly love yourself, you value who you are and can grow towards what you may wish to become. Therapy is brave work; allow yourself to grow with it and become the best version of yourself. In my work, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe to express your authentic self while you are on your journey of healing and self-growth. I am here to listen and understand with a non-judgemental lens. Being a therapist is more than just a job for me—it is the expression of my desire to show compassion, empathy, and genuine care for other people.

I have attained a Master of Arts degree in Counselling and Psychology from Yorkville University and a Master of Education degree in Language, Culture and Teaching from York University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and also registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am also trained and experienced in providing behaviour therapy based on the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). I have worked with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, bicultural and acculturation stress, work-related stress, anger issues, low self-esteem and self-confidence, grief, MVA-related pain and stress, life transitions, lack of motivation, childhood trauma, school-related issues, midlife crisis, bullying, emotional dysregulation and relationships issues.

As an Indo-Canadian woman, I strongly appreciate cultural diversity and have a passion for culturally safe and responsive therapy. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and couples from different cultural backgrounds. I use a compassion-focused, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approach. I adopt a holistic approach in my work by drawing from a wide range of therapeutic interventions to provide treatment and support that works best for my clients and helps them achieve their goals.

Among all the great things that we want for ourselves, perhaps happiness tops the list for most of us. But life may not always turn out the way we expect, and that can hurt. There may be times when we feel stuck, angry, lost, confused, or unhappy. Taking that first step towards therapy may not always be easy. If you are thinking about it, I truly applaud you! Do not hesitate to reach out to me to begin your therapy journey. In our work together, my hope will be to provide you with an experience that is truly meaningful, empowering and one that brings a smile to your face!
