Deciding to come to therapy can feel overwhelming; however, it can also be the first step to feeling better. It is my belief that therapy is a journey where people can make changes to various aspects of their lives and find opportunities for personal growth. As your therapist, it is my mission to create a strong therapeutic connection and provide a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space for this growth to occur. I strive to make this process both comfortable and helpful to you and will keep your specific needs and goals at the forefront of the work we do together.
I am a registered social worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto (UofT) with a specialization in children and families as well as addictions. I also have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Yale University. I have over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and strength-based and draws upon evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy, emotionally focused therapy, family systems, solution-focused therapy and goal setting. I have experience working with clients with a wide range of challenges including depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, externalizing behaviours, parent-child relationships and family relationships.
I offer a complimentary initial consultation where we can have an opportunity to get acquainted, discuss the therapeutic process and come up with a plan together.
I have experience supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, low motivation, and self-esteem challenges. If, after an initial consultation, you feel that we are a good fit, we will work together to better understand and shift unhelpful thinking patterns, process difficult emotions, and engage in actions that move you toward your goals.
