The decision to begin counselling is often the first step towards improved relationships and feeling better. I have faith in people and am strength based and patient. My approach is to begin by exploring a client’s own perception of their issues, their best hopes for resolution and their expectations of counselling.
I am a registered social worker and have a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. I have more than 30 years of experience working with adults and adolescents. I have authored or co-authored more than a dozen publications, dealing mainly with workplace stress, trauma, and resilience.
My training includes cognitive behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, emotion focused therapy, parent-adolescent conflict and trauma. I am comfortable working with clients with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, family or couple conflict, or facing difficult life decisions or events.
We will work together on your goals. I am committed to being client-centered and staying current with best therapeutic practices and research.
I am happy to offer a free telephone consultation to answer any questions you might have about my approach and background.
