I am a warm and empathetic therapist who will work with you to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and recognize and resolve problems areas with which you struggle. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space in which you can explore your feelings and thoughts and unveil factors that may be holding you back. We would then work together to resolve these challenges and address painful feelings which can affect our well-being. My passion is to help individuals and couples free themselves of emotional distress and lead an authentic and meaningful life utilizing their full potential. Some of the areas I specialize in include relational difficulties, anxiety, depression and pregnancy and post-partum challenges.
I have a Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto and am a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I am committed to staying current in leading therapy practices and have attended a variety of post graduate training courses. In my work I employ a range of evidence based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness.
I believe that for people to benefit from therapy they have to feel that their therapist is the right fit. This is something we can explore in a free initial consultation call. My approach to psychotherapy is that we work as a partnership. I will usually begin by asking about the struggles for which you would like help and I will follow your lead. When working with couples although I meet with two individuals, the couple relationship is the focus. I am therefore dedicated to creating a space in which each partner feels comfortable and understood to share their reasons for coming to couples therapy.
