Laura Clarke, RP (Qualifying)

Hi! My name is Laura.

I know that the word ‘therapy’ itself can seem intimidating. I remember how overwhelmed and isolated I felt trying to work through my struggles on my own. My goal is to emphasize that your suffering matters; there is no concern that is too small or big for exploration. It can be difficult to ask for help and I really admire you for taking this first step.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist-Qualifying with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO, #10887) and Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I achieved a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, New Brunswick in 2022. I have helped individuals with a range of struggles including stress, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, loneliness, family conflict, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, clarity on life purpose, life transitions, and more.

I am honoured to be in a position to help others strengthen self-awareness and set goals to achieve personal growth and a fulfilling lifestyle. My role as your therapist is to help you to improve your relationship with yourself, as I serve as an unbiased perspective on your life. This may include helping you to improve emotional regulation, develop healthier coping skills, identify unhelpful thinking patterns or challenge those self-limiting beliefs that may be holding you back from the life that you want to lead.

When working with clients, I create a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space that encourages self-reflection and discovery. My sessions are conversational style, and my easygoing nature helps to create a comfortable space with sessions that feel relaxed. I will ask questions, work through activities with you and apply my therapeutic knowledge to build a structured treatment plan that is aligned with your goals. Therapy isn’t a one size fits all solution. I recognize the importance of using a collaborative, multi-theoretical and individualistic approach to therapy. We maintain an equal standing in the relationship, and I value feedback to ensure that we are consistently meeting your needs.

Feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit! This can give me a chance to learn more about you, tell you how I could help and answer any questions you may have!
