Congratulations, you’ve just taken a very important first step on the path to a healthier YOU. Regardless of how small the step is, you have chosen to make a change, find an alternative way, develop the proper skills, or simply acquire the necessary tools to overcome the challenges you are experiencing, and for that I commend you. Taking the first step is never easy but you did it! And now you do not need to take the remaining steps alone…
Hi, my name is Anita Alabi. I am a Registered Social Worker with the OCSWSSW, and I look forward to supporting you along your journey of healing! A little bit about me, I attained my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Windsor and my undergraduate degrees in Family Studies, Criminology & Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. My professional path has enabled me to interact with and assist individuals, couples, families, and groups in a clinical setting on issues ranging from anxiety and emotional regulation to interpersonal relationship difficulties and familial conflict. I am a relationship enthusiast, with the goal of helping my clients repair their relationships by equipping them with tools to understand better and improve their relationships, resolve conflicts, and cultivate intimacy.
As a therapist, I embody an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and strength-based perspective to my practice. Utilizing an array of modalities from Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, attachment-based therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and more, my goal, to simply put it, is to assist you on your journey.
Many times, our past experiences of anti-Black racism, intergenerational trauma, re-settlement/immigration and so much more can influence our functioning, but together we can determine the best coping skills and strategies needed to help you attain your desired outcomes. My treatment programs are individualized and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
Now that you have had the opportunity to read a little bit about me, I would love to get to know you! You are welcome to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation with me. It would be my pleasure to learn more about your needs and explore how I can best assist you with your therapy goals.
