Have you ever wished that there was an instruction manual out there to help you navigate difficult issues? Whether you are a parent looking for the instructions to help your child, a teen trying to figure out yourself and relationships or an adult trying to figure out life – each one of you may need an instruction booklet to help you out.
I have over 10 years working with children, youth, families and individuals. I am a graduate of Ryerson University and Dalhousie University and I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
I come to Beaches Therapy Group with extensive knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and have spent the last 4 years working in community children’s mental health, helping children, youth and families struggling with complex mental health issues. I am a therapy nerd and make it a point to stay up to date with leading practices in psychotherapy.
I have training in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal ideation and self-harm, parent/child conflict, trouble at school, ADHD, parenting and general coping with stress at home and at work. My work is grounded on the principles of attachment, trauma and neurobiology. My approach is a balance of acceptance and change; ensuring to be client-centred while being firm and challenging at the same time. Each client is an individual and I will work with you to tailor a treatment program that meets your needs. Ultimately my goal is to work myself out of a job, meaning your goals have been met and you don’t need to come see me anymore.
