Life is sometimes hard but you are not alone. You deserve the understanding, support and guidance to overcome life’s challenges. I offer psychotherapy and life coaching to reduce your pain, worry and sadness and help you feel hopeful again. Together we will work in a focused way to find solutions to your problems and transform your life and the life of your family.
Going for counselling is a big and a brave choice. I know because I made it myself when life was weighing me down. I respect those who choose to come for counselling and offer a warm and accepting space to express your deepest emotions and thoughts and to figure life out.
My approach is engaging, honest, down to earth and caring.
I am a registered social worker in Ontario and obtained my BSW and MSW degrees at the University of Calgary. I am the father of two grown sons and the grandfather of seven. Before starting a full time counselling career, I worked as a clergy person in Ontario and Manitoba. For three decades hundreds of individuals and families turned to me at their hardest times with their most heavy problems. I will be there for you and your family in the same way…every step of the way.
I provide non-denominational counselling and my areas of specialization include relationships and marriage, parenting, young adults, grief and loss, sexual trauma, addictions, depression and anxiety, family conflict, life purpose, separation, divorce and remarriage.
I use a variety of current psychotherapeutic theories to inform my work. For couples these include Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Relationship Method. For individuals I rely on Schema, Acceptance-Commitment, Solution Focused and Client Centered therapies.
I welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds, ages and sexual orientations. Together we will work to heal you and your loved ones. Together we will turn confusion, anger and sadness into clarity, renewal and happiness.
