Therapy is a safe space in which one can be vulnerable, authentic, empathetic, and share anything they desire. It is a non-judgmental space, that focuses on growth. Arriving at one session with a therapist is an accomplishment in itself. Sitting in a vulnerable setting is incredibly overwhelming, sometimes uncomfortable. That’s why I emphasize the importance of a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship. I check in with comfort levels, making sure the sessions are a safe space for each of my clients.
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and a Certificate in Children within the Justice System. I am also in a Master’s Level of Psychology Program at Adler Graduate School (M.Psy Candidate), expecting to graduate in August, 2020. I am working towards registering with the College of Psychologists. I have had experience working as an instructor therapist at a private practice for children with Autism. My dedication and passion to grow within this field has motivated me to continuously conduct research, continue learning new modalities, and discover not only which therapeutic orientations I am interested in, but what works best for my clients.
I work with adults, couples, and teens at Beaches Therapy Group. Currently, I am completing my thesis on Couples and Successful Conflict Resolution Strategies. In addition, I draw upon modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Rogerian talk therapy, and emotion focused therapy. I have been providing treatment services for clinical concerns that include attention, trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders, as well as assisting individuals in progressing in their social and emotional skills. I offer a free initial consultation call to all new clients. I also offer affordable, sliding scale sessions.
Thank you for reaching out. Remember, therapy is a journey, and I hope to be a part of yours!
